Australia's
snow-gum
forests are
under threat.
Current dieback reports
Decline and death of Australia's high-elevation forest communities, known as snow-gum dieback, is widespread throughout the Australian Alps. Although anecdotally linked to wood-boring longicorns, the drivers of snow-gum dieback remain unknown.
Our work focusses on understanding the phenomenon, mapping its extent and expansion, and predicting and mitigating the effects of future outbreaks.
Help us by reporting your dieback observations.
